2013 2013 2013 <span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The Great Grove Bed Race is back Labor Day Weekend and don’t hit snooze, you’ll lose.&nbsp;</span><br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Homemade beds race down the streets of Coconut Grove, the origins of bed racing date back three decades with this being the fifth anniversary of the Great Grove Bed Race race with it’s the Fast-Signs-fast-track and professional speed-way style play-by-play and on site live radio with Celebrity Grand Marshall each year. &nbsp;</span><br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Tireless teams consist of five members—call it a “five-way”—with four ready-to-romp racers and one rider hitched to the headboard. Speed still wins the ultimate exhale at the checkered flag, but with record high votes on crowd favorite - the true race day winners topped &nbsp;out at five thousand total voters by phone. It’s a new era for the event and it’s fans. Awards also are given for theme, creativity and décor (this being a consummate competition) taking the laugh-a-meter to it’s bulbous top.
